LESCO spokesman while clarifying the news covered in different electronic and print media regarding alleged theft of electricity in public meeting of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the premises of Schazoo Laboratories on Monday night stated that due to the security reasons for VVIP movement, the TMO Data Ganj Baksh Town installed four 500 Watts Search Lights directly on L.T. Line on emergent basis without informing LESCO. As per practice a bill for Rs.3000/- has been charged from concerned Municipal Administration. Directions for better co-ordination with LESCO staff during such like situations have also been conveyed to Municipal Administration.
The spokesman further stated that the Line Superintendent of the area Husnain Mehdi has been suspended for dereliction of duty. Electric Supply for Sound System and the lights in public meeting was getting from the Meter and Generator in the premises of Schazoo Laboratories, thus the question of power pilferage does not arise, he added.
